Barbeque Trailer

I was asked if I could build a custom barbeque trailer for the Carisbrook Lions Club. The club services a lot of local events, and needed a self contained trailer with everything on board. I suggested they purchase a ready-built but empty tradesman’s trailer, and would build something out of that. It was a good starting point as it was a secure and solid base to add stuff as needed.  They also supplied two commercial barbeques that would fit well – and using heavy duty drawer sliders mounted to steel crossbeams, they can now be pulled out for use and locked in place for travel. I also sourced the components for having hot and cold running water from an 80 litre drinking water tank made for an RV, a sink, 12 volt LED lighting, solar power and stainless steel work tops, all custom built and fitted. I fitted three gas bottles to the front, one dedicated to the water heater, the other two for the barbeques. Finally, the blue band was added to the outside using vinyl, and then applied the logos, leaving space for sponsorship on the back.

The Lions Club has since had the trailer fully certified as a food vending vehicle and have used it for many events and functions. It is working as it was intended to.

The trailer in use at the Maryborough Market Day

  1. CHRIS MAHER. says:

The new Trailer for the Carisbrook Lions Club has been one of the best things we have invested in.

It’s been used extensively since we received it at our markets and Aldis, supporting the S.E.S. Relay for Life, Energy Breakthrough, Maryborough Harness Racing Track.

  2. We had a BBQ trailer for 35+ years, but have traded it in for a food van. The trouble we have is that we have to have gazebo;s on each side of the trailer, as well as tables & bain Marees’.

Our Food Van is council approved and 100% compliant with the National Food Standards. We were able to fund the food van with a Government grant of $43,000, help from ALF and sponsorship. No public monies were used.

Ingleburn Lions Club launches it on Saturday 22 Sept
